Day 80/365 of BPC 2013: A Glimpse of the Mountain States.

I have been invited to be a guest blogger on this blog and continue the daily Blog Photo Challenge link up while Adin and her family are traveling to Wyoming. It was really a privilege for me to do this and I am thankful for the opportunity.

For my first post here, I would like to share with you guys my wonderful travel experience to the mountain state of Colorado. Also, as some of you may have known already, we recently moved to another beautiful mountain state which is Montana so I see it fitting to talk about it and share photos of the area since the author of Thrift It. Flaunt It. (The SAHM Way) is actually heading to these parts of the country.

I love taking road trips. The anticipation during planning the itinerary and packing stuff usually makes me excited on what lies ahead. Not to mention I really enjoy scenic drives so we usually take that route regardless if it's the short or long way to go. I think it's all part of the adventure, you know. Our trip to Colorado years back was one of my fondest memories since it was a week long and it was my first time to be in a mountain state. The magnificent view of the mountains just rapt me in awe.

This is the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado, the world's highest suspension bridge which spans the Arkansas River at a height of 1053 feet.

To get an in-depth mountain experience, we rode in an incline railway which travels at a 45-degree angle as it descends over 1,500 feet to the canyon floor.

Another awesome way to explore and admire the beauty of the mountains was to ride in a 2,200-foot aerial tramway. We are both afraid of heights but believe it or not, we didn't let that deter us from riding in it, lol!

Down below lies the Arkansas River which added to the mystical aura of the place.

And the best part of all was we get to meet the Blankenship family on our way back home. Very nice and warm couple I might add. :)

Adin was pregnant here with Harley, her eldest.

It's me with Adin.

Hope you're not sick with all the pictures yet, lol! But like I've mentioned above, we moved from Arkansas to Montana, which is in the same area as Colorado and Wyoming where Adin's husband Tim is hoping to get a job in. So hopefully God-willing we may be state neighbors soon, lol!

Here are a couple of shots of my boys in Helena, Montana where we currently reside.

Beautiful, isn't it? I am so glad we live here. So close to nature but much closer to shopping. Stores like Ross, Costco, Target, Macy's, JC Penney, Lowes, Home Depot to name a few are smack dab in the middle of the town where we live. Just awesome!

  1. Jen-- as in I super enjoyed your photos! I have seen lots of pictures of that Colorado suspension bridge kay akong SIL nianha pud diha. Gusto ko moanha diha puhon! We have only passed by Colorado during our road trip to Vegas but never had a chance to enjoy the state. Hopefully, someday soon!

Pareho ta Jen, I love road trips as well. The husband and I do, ug karon, with kids, natakdan sila ug apil. We are thankful nga nakapuyo mi diri sa America where we got to enjoy the scenes nga sa libro ug TV ra namo nakita before. God is so good!

As for you and Adin meeting up: WOW! That is so awesome! I am sure it was a wonderful time! I wish to meet you someday, too, apil si Mommy Adin pud! :) Ikaw wala pa pud kay anak ani nga time no? ;-)
